Diet and acne
It has not been my experience that protein makes a difference in the activity of acne. Although high sugar has been implicated to make inflammation worse, there is no solid scientific evident that diet has a major influence on acne.

No, protein shakes do not cause acne
While the role of diet has continued to gain adherents both in the dermatologic community and beyond, most of those who feel that diet affects acne center their arguments around carbohydrates, not protein.
There is little if any evidence that a diet high in protein would flare up or cause acne.
