I just had surgery this past Wednesday, May 29th. My doctor told me I could remove the gauze today, which I just did. Everything looks good except there is a water blister (at least this is what it looks like) below the incision site (not on it). It is actually in between where the incision site is and the drain site is. Are water blisters common, and what should I do about it? Should we bust it or just leave it? Thank you in advance.

Answer: Blisters after in abdominoplasty are often created by traction from tape.
An abdominoplasty is performed in the supine position, laying on your back. To tailor the skin and fat flap at the end of the procedure the head of the bed is generally flexed 15 to 20 degrees and the excess skin is excised. I have never heard of placing a patient in a chair. ...
Thank you for the photographs. It does appear a bit of center but this may be better once all the swelling is gone and healing is complete. I would re-evaluate it then. The necessary treatment if it is off center is worse than the belly button position.

The Mons is capable of taking on a lot of fluid due to swelling after abdominoplasty. Over time it will decrease. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
