I am 18, 157 lbs, pear shaped, and my huge insecurity are my breasts I think they are small, saggy, lack volume, and are far apart I come from a line of busty women my mother being a 38DD weighing 180ish. I'm also trying to lose weight and don't want to lose the little breast fat I have. I'm not sure if my body type will have an effect on the fat I lose first and quickest if that will have any affect on my breasts I know I can't target what fat to lose. but is there any advice I could have?
Answer: Are my breasts underdeveloped and oddly shaped? Thank you very much for your enquiry. It does look as if you may have very mildly tuberous breasts. This is a natural condition in which the nipples lie in a slightly low position and can be a little domed and raised from the surrounding skin. This can give a slightly triangular or pointy shape to the bust. The normal approach to this is a breast uplift procedure reducing the areola and lifting it to a more natural position. For more information about this procedure it might be worthwhile having a look at our website where you will find lots of information about the procedure. I wish you the best of luck if you decide to have treatment for this.

Answer: Are my breasts normal? The photos sent are helpful. I do not think based on the photos that you definitely need a lift and might simply benefit from a breast implant . It could provide additional needed volume to enhance your proportions creating upper pole fullness and additional width to balance possibly your hips( if truly pear shaped). Being conservative and leaving the option for a lift for later might be the best approach give your age and likely desire to avoid unnecessary scars. See a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in breast procedures. Best of good luck.

Answer: Within the normal range Your breasts are within the range of normal, but you do have some changes that affect the shape of your breasts: ptosis, breast assymetry, nipple assymetry, enlarged areola due to breast tissue herniation. All of these issues could be addressed with a periareolar mastopexy (incision around the areola) and breast augmentation and create a beautiful result. Given your feelings about your breasts I think you would be a great cadidate for surgery and the outcome would be fantastic for your self confidence. Weight loss can lead to some deflation of the breast, but this should not stop your from your goal of a healthy weight. Additional wieght loss will not change the surgical plan and I recommend a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Best,Jeremiah Redstone, MDRedstone MD--NY and NJ Plastic Surgery

Answer: Breast lift with implants Thank you for your descriptive question and appropriate pictures. You will likely be a candidate for the periareolar breast lift with a scar just around your areola and implants to give you volume. You areolar size will also be reduced as part of this procedure. You would need a consultation for precise recommendations.

Answer: Breast shape? I appreciate your concern, and physical exam is optimal, but from your photos, it appears that you have modest constricted breasts, and this is not related to your weight. However, I do recommend that you get to your ideal weight prior to surgery, which probably involves breast implants. Check out the link below to am article I wrote about the subject and seek the advice of a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. Good luck!
