I took my cast off 5 days ago.I didn't have big issues with my nose, just strong bone in the root. The doctor said he made the nose REALLY small, but as seen now he just made it a bit more concave. The root bone is still really strong & I was specific I wanted it broken down.I attached a photo with the nose now (right) & nose I wanted/asked for (left). Is there a chance it will shrink down to that size? Especially the bone area, how much can the bone be swollen after the surgery anyway?
Answer: Swelling after rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. It takes a good six weeks for the general swelling to leave after rhinoplasty, three months for most of the swelling to go away and a year for all the swelling to go away. You will be surprised at how much the swelling goes away.Obviously, you are going to want to discuss this specifically with your surgeon but in my opinion, it is probably too early to tell.I hope this helps.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Will my nose significantly shrink after rhinoplasty, especially the bone in the root area? It is way too early. The nose can be swollen for up to a year or more. Swelling will depend upon the nature of maneuvers employed, presence of grafts or implants, thickness of skin, open vs closed, revision vs primary, etc. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Answer: Your nasal appearance will continue to improve as swelling resolves only 5 days post rhinoplasty surgery. Your swollen nose on the right appears nicer than what you imaged on the left. You imaged a result where your nose looks over-resected, in my opinion. Since you're only 5-days post-op, your nasal root may lower a bit since you're still swollen.Hope this is helpful for you.Dr. Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty results I think your result is very nice. Your left photos looks like the dorsum is too low and probably not within the aesthetics of your face. Hard to say without an exam.
