Hi doctors, I am 18 days post septorhinoplasty and I am feeling that my nose is very hard and stiff. I am wanting to know if my nose will soften over time and feel like a normal nose again? I had a netball accident 2 years ago which created a large bump on my nose and deviated my septum, I therefore had a septorhinoplasty performed to remove the bump and straighten my nose as well as removing some cartilage to refine. My ENT doc thinks that the stiffness and hardness can sometimes be indefinite?

No, the graft is a whole piece of cartilage, and is placed in a precise pocket between the septum and the upper lateral cartilage which is plenty of blood flow. They usually live and are well accepted by the body and do not dissolve.
