Had rhinoplasty hump removal and tip work my nose has got more and more crooked to my left I'm 5 weeks post op and I hate it, is this swelling when cast came off it wasn't like this :-(
Answer: 4 weeks post op Rhinoplasty, my nose is so crooked. Any suggestions? I am sorry to read about your concerns. I would recommend returning to your surgeon for followup and voicing your concerns. I do agree that your nose is still shifted off to the side. This could be temporary or long term in nature. Otherwise, you appear to be healing well. The upside is that if your nose does heal in that position any revision procedure to create additional straightening should be relatively straight forward. However, the first step should be to discuss with your surgeon. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Five weeks post-op is too soon to judge your results after rhinoplasty surgery. Your nasal appearance on front-view appears improved compared to pre-op. Your nose appears swollen. You appear to have a slight indentation along your left bridge, but this could be from asymmetrical swelling along your right bridge. You should discuss your concerns with your surgeon, and consider getting a second opinion if necessary.Wishing you well.Dr. Joseph

Answer: Healing after rhinoplasty By the looks of your photograph, the tip is towards the left. This could be due to swelling that can take several months to fully resolve or due to a shift in the underlying cartilage. Discuss this with your surgeon at your follow up visits. Occasionally if swelling is pronounced, injections can be used to settle it down. If there has been a true shift this may require revision work to be done once all of the swelling has subsided.

Answer: Post op Rhinoplasty, crooked nose I agree that this is generally unusual 5 weeks following surgery. There may be good reasons for this depending on what you had preoperatively and what was found and performed during surgery. I would make a follow up appointment with your surgeon and review your concerns. I would expect he/she is just as concerned as you are and interested in your happiness. My rule of thumb after 30 yrs of Rhinoplasty is that if it is crooked at 10 days further improvement is unlikely.Best wishesR W Maloney, MD FACSNaples Fl

Answer: Concerns over crooked nose after rhinoplasty surgery Dear Gem123, I would see your surgeon for a post operative evaluation and discuss your concurs. He/she will know best where you are in the recovery phase and an examination will help determine the cause of the crookedness. Please remember you are early in your recovery phase so hopefully your surgeon can help you with some piece of mind while healing.
