Invisalign can work with bridges

Yes, Invisalign can work with bridges. If the teeth in the bridge itself need to be moved or rotated the best thing to do is section or cut the bridge to allow the teeth to be guided individually into their proper position and then make a new bridge when Invisalign treatment is complete. If the teeth in the bridge do not need to be moved or rotated then Invisalign can still work for other teeth in the mouth that do need to be straighten. I would advise you to see your dentist for a... more

Invisalign uses bridges as anchors and won't move them

Dental bridges don't pose a problem with Invisalign, but the bridge won't move. This can be a good thing, as it can act as an anchor to get the other teeth to move. It is possible that the bridge should be replaced, so removing it and moving the teeth as desired and then replacing the bridge may be an option.

You may benefit from cosmetic dentistry rather than Invisalign

Whenever someone comes in for a consultation, I try to guide them to a choice that works best for them considering the current state of their mouth and their finances. If the person has extensive restorations in the visible (aesthetic) zone, they may benifit more from doing crowns, bridges or veneers (or a combination of them all). If you have a bridge that doesn't match and some fillings or crowns that look "patchy" you may want to consider straightening your teeth with crowns... more

Invisalign will work with bridges

Invisalign can be used with a bridge, but in most instances, the doctor will prescribe that the invisalign does not move the bridge, as the bridge is a fixed unit. If the teeth in the arch, other than the bridge, are what you want to move, then invisalign can move those other teeth. If the bridge is sectioned into 2 parts, it is then possible to move the 2 parts of the bridge. I would recommend seeing an orthodontist who can take records and work up a treatment plan.

Yes, Invisalign does work with bridges

Your bridges will be fine during Invisalign treatment. We can not move the bridge tho, just your natural teeth or teeth with single crowns on them. Even traditional braces cannot move bridges very well either. We can't bond brackets on the bridge so its difficult. The bridge can be remade after teeth staightening to look much better tho..

Invisalign works with bridges, but won't move them

Invisalign treatment is possible if you have a bridge, but you have to be aware that no orthodontic treatment is going to move the bridge itself. Expect changes in the other teeth only. Make sure the area under the bridge is blocked out with some sort of material when you are having the PVS impressions to ensure that the impression doesn't get locked in. Good luck!
