Will getting an impression done for a new retainer pull out my crowns on my front teeth? (Photo)

I have a lot of teeth problems. I had two crowns put on my two front teeth after a failed root canal. I spent thousands on this. I broke my retainer today and have to get a new one made or my teeth will move (I'm an on air personality so my smile is crucial to me). Will getting an impression done weaken my crowns or even pull them out? Is it possible to have a retainer made without taking an impression???
