Fat Necrosis and Massage After Heavy Blow to Thigh Area

I had a heavy blow to the thigh around four months ago. At the time the area was heavily swollen. This has now subsided but I have been left with a raised lump, around 2 inches in diameter, which feels thicker than the surrounding skin and feels as if it has hard irregularities in it.

Some of these 'click' back and forth when I touch the area. I suspect fat necrosis. How is it best to treat this? I am massaging the area daily at the moment but do not want to risk making it worse or spreading!
