Hi I had my touch up botox yesterday just to the eyes and today I have an annoying twitch to my right eye. I have read the forum here that botox treats twitching eyes but I dont understand why mine is twitching from this morning on my upper eyelid above my lashes. I am a big fan of botox and have had for several years BUT this is really irritating me.
Answer: Eye twitching and Botox
Botox is actually a treatment for eye twitching. If you had an injection yesterday, the Botox will not even be active yet. You may just have a minor irritation from the injection, but not anything due specifically from the Botox. If you continue to have a problem, then you should discuss with your surgeon.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Twitching in the eyelid happens without botox and botox treats twitching
Probably, your twitching is related to separate factors than the Botox you had injected. Clinically, the number one factor I have seen in patients who have never had Botox but develop twitching in the eyelid is fatique. The twitching can last for several days or more and then goes away. Botox can inhibit the muscle contraction of a twitching area but whether your botox injection in an adjoining area caused the area not injected to be stimulated and then caused twitching will not be able to be determined. If there had been many of these situations reported over the last two decades of Botox use then even if the pathophysiology were not understood, there would be a statistic to quote of its prevalence. For now, it would be important for you to inform your doctor and they can report it to Allergan, who can report it to the FDA.

Answer: Botox and twitching
Botox helps correct twitching so it is not likely related to it. Isolated eyelid twitching is called myokymia and is related to things like stress, caffeine, and not getting enough sleep.

Answer: You can get some twitching after BOTOX
You can get some twitching after BOTOX, but it could also be unrelated. Twitching of the lid can occur from drinking too much caffeine, not sleeping well, or even stress. And, it may just be that you are associating it with a BOTOX touch up. It may also be an irritation to the nerve from the needle injections and that will go away.
