Today's date is June 18, 2011. The last time I wore safety glasses with a silicone nose pad for a couple of months, one side of my nose became very red, and the flesh began to kind of disintegrate. Once I realized it was the silicone nose pad (they were Smith & Wesson safety glasses), I quit wearing them, but the damage was apparently already done. It took several weeks for the wound to 'heal', which it didn't do all that well. There are scars and apparently, there was nerve damage or disintegra.  Can this same type of Silicone Poisoning occur with Plastic Surgery Procedures which use Silicone injections or implants?

Silicone effect on skin

This is most likely due to pressure on the skin rather than use of silicone per se. I have seen this with people how wear regular eyeglasses as well. My response to your question/post does not represent formal medical advice or constitute a doctor patient relationship. You need to consult with i.e. personally see a board certified plastic surgeon in order to receive a formal evaluation and develop a doctor patient relationship.
