I have had bone loss in my gums for years. My dentist says implants won't work because there isn't enough bone left.

Nearly all of my teeth are loose, and have recently become pressure-sensitive. I have had occasional pocket infections. For the last few years, I have been going to my dentist every 3 months for cleaning. I know that bone loss as severe as mine can't be corrected, but is having all of my teeth removed and getting dentures my only option? I'm 48.
