Hello. I recently had a consultation appointment with Dr.Shah in Columbus and have a surgery date scheduled for November. I originally came in wanting to discuss a 500-600cc option, but based on my dimensions (210lbs, 5'7" and having broader shoulders I am 9.5 inches between nipples) he advised I could go up to 700cc. I currently wear a 38b/c bra, and I am looking to go up to a DD cup size. Does this sound like something doable? I was looking at the Mentor Mod+ silicone implants.
Answer: Implant Sizing Thank you for your question. Without a thorough examination, it would be difficult to say. When getting a breast augmentation procedure, sometimes you can "try on" the implant sizes during your pre-operative appointment. You will bring a tight fitting shirt and insert the implants into a bra to mimic how the implants will look when placed. This size will be the basis for your procedure with some leniency to the surgeon at the time of operation.

Answer: 650cc Thanks for your question! Based on your height and weight, I don't think that would be too big for your frame. Hopefully you were able to try on implants or see B&A photos to understand what your result will be. Best of luck!

Answer: Size Those sizes will probably work for you, but I recommend trying them on so you can feel the weight on your neck and shoulders. The 700 cc implant will be heavy, and I suggest going smaller.

Answer: Implant size Dear pinkyoj94, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Candidacy for breast augmentation? Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photos, I note loss of superior breast pole volume. There is relative breast symmetry. Your nipples reside above the fold at the bottom of your breasts, and you demonstrate minimal sag. As you are choosing a relatively larger sized implant, it does not appear that your require a lift to achieve your goal, and the size range seems reasonable. If a small implant is utilized, a vertical lift may be of benefit. It must be noted that some women with larger sized breasts have a tendency to develop neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, bra strap grooving, and chronic rashes beneath the breasts due to their added weight. Be conservative.Best wishes...
