I got a rhinoplasty 12 months ago and I think my nose has gotten worse over time than better. I had a pretty ok front profile with a hump which i wanted to get removed. Now My front profile is much worse than before and my bridge and tip are reall big and wide. My surgeon says I have thick skin but during our consultation he said I had thin skin which I believe i do. I just need someone to tell me if it’s really swollen or this is how my nose will look.
Answer: Rhinoplasty post op The two pictures that you have supplied reveal that your nose is definitely straighter, but the bridge is wide. The pictures are a little bit distorted, particularly on your preop due to the fact that you were smiling, and on the postop picture, there is more of a shadow on the right side. Therefore better pictures are needed to get the full idea of what’s going on. It is not uncommon to have a wider bridge when the hump is taken down. It seems that what happened was that he was trying to straighten the nose by moving the left nasal bone out and this accomplished that but made the nose a little wide. I definitely don’t think the nose was “botched“. It may be that a secondary procedure may be necessary to narrow the bridge somewhat. That’s just a discussion you should have with your surgeon while the both of you are looking at pictures in order to try to see what can be accomplished.

Answer: 12 months result is likely final result. You have had 12 months to heal from your rhinoplasty. Your nose is not likely to change much going forward. A revision rhinoplasty, where osteotomies to narrow the upper portion of your nose, and some suture techniques to narrow the tip of your nose, should be able to bring you to a more balanced appearance of your liking. Check with your surgeon as to whether this could be accomplished. Best wishes.

Answer: At 12 months after rhinoplasty surgery, you are likely looking at a final result. Based on your photos, you do not appear to have excessively thick nasal skin that can hold on to swelling for protracted durations. If you feel that your bridge and tip are still wide after rhinoplasty surgery, revision rhinoplasty may be indicated. If that is the case, I would suggest getting a copy of your operative report and your preoperative photos and then discussing your concerns with a reputable revision rhinoplasty specialist. I hope this information is helpful and thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty To me it seems that your nasal bones were not narrowed as much as they should be. Although it’s hard to tell from limited photos
