Coming to a conclusion on if I want to go through with implants, been to 3 consults. I have moderate tuberous breasts. A cup, 5’6”, 157 lbs, 25 years old. Big fear is about permanent nipple sensation loss. May need Ariola reduction with smaller implant. I understand nothing is certain, but is it more than a 4% chance I have permanent nipple sensation loss? How common is permanent with small / tuberous breasts? Looking at 285, 300, 320, ccs.Goal is to be big B/ small C. 335 too much?
Answer: Sensation loss Dear oceanlover0784232, every surgery has a risk of possible sensation loss in incision area. however, with a good surgical technique and proper incision placement, the risk can be reduced. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: nipple sensation loss? The risk of nipple sensation loss is very low but not zero. When making a decision on this surgery, you'll have to weigh the importance of nipple sensation vs the improvement in appearance. If you felt that you would be devastated by sensory loss, then you should probably defer the surgery. If you felt that you could accept the loss for the aesthetic improvement, then proceed. It is always a very personal decision and one that only you can make.

Answer: Implants The sizes you post should all look nice on you. the risk to your areolae is low, but is present. However, in many women, sensation slowly returns. Also, you have two different breasts who may react differently.

Answer: Rare to have a permanent decrease or loss of nipple sensation. For most- no change After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon' s experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what is right for them. Whichever you close, it takes 3 to 5 weeks to get used to before you feel the implants are part of you. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author. Answer: Implants placed behind the muscle When implants are placed in front of the muscle, for treatment of tuberous breasts, then this results in cutting the main nerve supply to the nipple. You would be better off with implants behind the muscle. The areolas can be reduced by using a circumareola approach. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
