Is Black African Soap Supposed to Sting and Itch?

I have tried almost every acne treatment known to man. Chemical peels included. My skin is very sensitive and almost everything I have tried has made my skin worse. I don't have really bad acne, but I just want my skin to be better. I heard about Black African Soap made in Ghana. I have been using it for a week. It dried out the pimples I had on my face over night. I also use African Yellow Shea Butter. My face stings when I wash it and itches a little afterward. Is this normal. Attached photo
