Pain in abdomen five months after tummy tuck : doctors on this website suggest physical therapy - what is meant by this more specifically please ?
Answer: Physical Therapy After Tummy Tuck Often the pain after tummy tucks, especially several months out, is from the rectus (Six-Pack) muscle repair/approximation. The two type of physical therapy I refer my patients to include: (1) Traditional Physical Therapy which includes muscle electro-stimulation, needling, massage, etc. (2) Muscle Activation Technique (MAT), which I am really fond of because many patients suffer from inadequate muscle fiber recruitment after surgery due to the dormant state of these muscles when the were separated by pregnancy and thus firing aberrantly.
