How Do I Know if I Have Vitiligo?

I look at pictures of Vitiligo and they don't resemble what I have. My Family Doctor said it was, but said don't worry about it. I have TINY(freckle size) white dots on my jaw line and neck (on both sides; I have about 4-5 dots on each side). These aren't patches, but dots. How do I know if I really have Vitiligo?

See a Dermatologist

Usually vitiligo is symmetric and bilateral. So I would look for this. The area can be examined with a Wood's Lamp for pigment. Small flat white spots are often amy just be idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis, but these usually occur on the arms or legs. I would have this checked out by a dermatologist since treatment can reverse early vitilgo.
