We have our tummy tuck patients up the day of surgery walking around. We want you to be careful with not damaging the muscle repair so we ask that you not do any aerobic exercise and lifting of heavy objects or weights for at least 4-6 weeks. All tummy tucks come see me for follow-up at 6 days post-op and many are driving themselves and are ready to return to work. The normal range of days to take off work is 6-10 days depending on how much skin removal was performed and the amount of muscle repair. All tummy tucks should be at their normal routine by 2 weeks or so.
