Hi, I got my surgery 3 days ago. I'm 5'6 and 120 lbs. My cup size was A. I had transaxillary BA w/silicone 325 cc. I'm swollen now but I already see that my breast doesnt look big. I am aftaid that after swelling is gone, my breast will fit in my old bras. Does implant can get bigger after placement? I was hoping for size C. For now I just feel all the money and stress were for nothing. Disappointed.
Answer: NO! They Don’t Grow Bigger Pre-op planning and discussions are very important to avoid these kinds of situations. The patient should be clear about what they want, and the surgeon should tell the patient about the potentials and the most probable outcome in detail. Your breasts can change and improve in shape however not in size in an increasing way. If size is your main concern, you may opt have to have larger implants after you are healed which can take up to 6 months after your surgery. Try to maintain a good communication with your surgeon and be expressive about your concerns. Hope this helps,Ali Rıza Öreroğlu, MD FEBOPRASEuropean and Turkish Board Certified Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeonIstanbul, Turkey

Answer: 3 days post-op breast augmentation Thank you for your question. Soon after breast augmentation surgery most patients feel underwhelmed by the look of their breasts. This occurs due to the swelling and unsettling of the breasts at this point in healing. It can take up to 6 weeks for breasts to settle and shape into their final result. For now, I encourage you to follow all post-operative instructions and scheduled follow-up visits with your board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!

Answer: Breast Augmentation Recovery Thank you for your question. You are still very early in the recovery process and your breasts will continue to change in appearance over the next several weeks to months. As your skin continues to stretch to accommodate the implant, the implants will settle to create a fuller appearance. I understand the difficulty of the waiting process, but give your body time to adjust and know that your results in a few weeks will be different that what you are seeing in the mirror today. Keep in constant communication with your plastic surgeon about your concerns and follow his/her guidance during the recovery process. Best of Luck!

Answer: 3 days post up breast augmentation Thank you for your question and photos. Only being 3 days post up it is too early to start seeing final swelling and settlement of your implants. The size implant seem to fit your small frame. When choosing an implant there are certain limits due to your chest measurements. Allow at least 3 months for most of the swelling to settle. I recommend contacting your physician in order to address all your questions and concerns. Good luck.

Answer: Breasts size disappointment after augmentation Dear Masha, Thanks for posting your pictures and sorry for your size disappointment. It would have been helpful to see your before and after pictures without bra. From observing your pictures, you appear to be a B or B+ cup size. Once the swelling goes down, the breasts size might go down a bit or might stay the same if you do implants displacement massage that will stretch the tissue and allow the implants fullness of the upper pole to go down and forward, maintaining the same cup size. You did not provide your chest circumference measurement in inches , which is critical for the correct implants size selection. Also, your pre operative A cup size might have been small or very small A cup size. In my over 30 years of practice I noticed that women tend to over estimate their cup size, because Victoria secrets makes the cup size smaller so women feel better about their breasts size. Let's assume that you are currently 34 B, to become a 34 C , you will need implants with volume of 450 cc. For 32 C - 425 cc. You will have to wait 3-4 months to let the implants settle down and than plan to replace the implants. Most likely you will need also capsulotomy (scar release) to make room for the larger implants. Best of luck, Dr Widder
