Q: I have marionette lines, lip lines, and wrinkles all at once! What's the best wrinkle fillers to get rid of these lines?
Answered by English BlackSeptember 18, 2023

A: This is one of the most common treatments sought in our clinic and is a symptom of alot going on: increased lack of support at the jaw angle, loss of bone in the chin and volume from the cheek hollow sliding down to form a jowl. Pair the above with a loss of fatin and around the mouth with an active muscle and you have the perfect storm!Finding an injector to address this global issue will be paramount as techniques have come a long way. in just the last few years. We use Juvederm Ultra Plus, Voluma and Volux in these areas or Restylane Defyne, Lyft, Refyne or Kysse with durations up to 18 months. Regarding lip lines: we find our patients look best when actually filling the pink of the lips and not the lines around the mouth: it will stimulate collagen without adding volume to the tissue above the lip which when filled can result in a "cat like" or Marge Simpson appearance.Great question!

Q: Which filler is best for the treatment of under eye tear troughs?
Answered by English BlackSeptember 18, 2023

A: In our experience undereye filler is there for the duration. There is very little blood flow to this area and lymphatic flow often socks in these products. Restylane is a great product in this area. Importantly, keeping up midface volume is paramount to managing undereye hollows - we find it often addresses the issue all by itself *without* having to go back to undereyes.
Note of caution: we counsel extensively for realistic expectations for the undereye as it is a higher risk area for complication. Seeking full correction ie to "look air brushed" typically leads to a boggy and unnatural look. Find and experienced injector for this area (many years of injecting experience) that will take the time to counsel and discuss your game plan for optimization.

Q: How Long Before Botox Results Can Be Seen?
Answered by English BlackSeptember 18, 2023

A: Botox/Dysport/Xeomin etc take about 4-6 days to kick in and the results peak in 2 weeks. 2 weeks is the optimal time for a touch up if needed and is recommended for accurate dosing.
If you have had lines for a bit we recommend treatment (with proper follow up after the first) every 3 months until we tame those lines. You can then tinker with how often you think you need treatment between 3-4 months. Younger patients without much in lines generally feel they can stretch out treatments whereas mature patients with established lines will appreciate consistency.
When dosed properly these products last 3 months or 12 weeks and treatment is recommended every 3-4 months. Treatments more frequent than this are considered risk factors for developing immunity to the product where it won't work anymore.

Q: How much does Botox cost?
Answered by English BlackSeptember 18, 2023

A: Because assessment and dose is paramount to a great result, pricing botox by unit (and possibly area) without assessment is doing you a disservice. Another question is: What is your number 1 priority when choosing an injector? Is it price? Results? Safety? Experience? As all these things factor in to cost, right? You're not *just* paying for Botox - you're paying for the results, level of experience, etc. Many clinics offer virtual assessments if that helps you save time.
That said geographical areas play a large role in pricing - my colleagues in the Bay area charge quite a bit more than we do in sleepy Greensboro.
Hope this helps!
