Q: I love my Restylane Lyft, but now under my eyes is hollow with wrinkles, what can I do? (Photos)
Answered by Jami BartholomewOctober 4, 2018

A: Hi and thank you for your question. Restylane Lyft was a great filler choice as evidence by your amazing cheeks! I would suggest adding a filler to your under eye area (tear troughs) which will improve the hollowness.

Sometimes dynamic wrinkles (wrinkles present when making a face) to the under eye can be treated with a neurotoxin (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport). This is a tricky area, so make sure you are being treated by a reputable injector. Best of luck.

Q: If the treatment of kybella post 6 weeks didn't work at all should I consider neck tight?
Answered by Jami BartholomewOctober 4, 2018

A: Hi and thank you for your question. If firmness is still present 6 weeks after Kybella, you are most likely still experiencing jpost injection swelling. Swelling can be present for up to 12 weeks after Kybella treatment. Firmness and nodules are also common after Kybella, which can be gently massaged. Kybella usually take 3-6 treatments before results are noted. Don't just your results too harshly until the swelling/firmness subsides.

Q: I'm wondering if it's time for me to start using filler in my cheeks? I'm not happy with some nasolabial shadows (photo)
Answered by Jami BartholomewOctober 4, 2018

A: Hello and thank you for your question. Typically adding filler to the cheeks will help with the nasolabila folds, however your cheeks appear quite full (which is a good thing). I would add a filler such as Juvederm Ultra Plus or Restylane Lyft to directly into the deficits of your nasolabial folds which will also help with the shadowing. Hope this helps. :)

Q: How long does Xeomin really last?
Answered by Jami BartholomewOctober 3, 2018

A: Hi and thank you for the question. Like Botox, Xeomin typically lasts 3-5 months, however the higher your metabolism, the faster you metabolize out the product. In other words, if you are active with a high metabolism, the Xeomin will not last as long. It is rare to become resistant to Xeomin. If you feel another product (Dysport or Botox) lasted longer, you should likely stick with that product. I like to inject my guests as soon as they start to have movement and before they get full movement because it will require fewer units. If you are starting to get movement back after 90 days, it is usually acceptable to get retreated.

Q: Lump and uneven texture under eyes after restylane fillers. Is this normal? Will it go away? (photo)
Answered by Jami BartholomewOctober 3, 2018

A: Hello and thank you for your question. It is common to have swelling and bruising for 2 weeks or longer after dermal filler injections. This is especially true after tear trough injections. It's difficult at this point to tell whether the swelling is from soft tissue edema from the treatment or from the Restylane itself. I would give it 2 full weeks before judging it too harshly. Continue to apply cold compress minutes on,  minutes off for several hours each day.
