Scott Tucker, MD
Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Scott Tucker is a board-certified plastic surgeon and president of Salem Plastic Surgery in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A RealSelf Top Doctor, Dr. Tucker specializes in cosmetic and restorative procedures of the face, breast, and body. Dr. Tucker knew from childhood that he wanted to be a doctor and became fascinated with surgery in medical school. He ultimately chose plastic surgery because “the profession affords me the opportunity to do what I love most—perform surgery and care for my patients. The creative aspect of working with each individual patient, whether reconstruction or aesthetic, combines my artistic nature with the opportunity to practice great medicine,” he says. Dr. Tucker often jokes that he “graduated from the 27th grade” because that’s how many years he was in school to become a plastic surgeon. He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed six years of residency training: four years in general surgery and two years in plastic surgery at Bowman Gray Center for Medical Education at Wake Forest University. He also completed a fellowship in cleft palate and burn reconstruction at the University of Southern California–affiliated Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center. Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Tucker is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. A past president of the North Carolina Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Tucker has also served as chief of plastic surgery of Forsyth Medical Center and Medical Park Hospital in Winston-Salem.

My Lips Are Gorgeous!

Dr. Howell is an artist! I’ve been getting lip fillers with Dr. Howell for several years now. I would never go anywhere else. People compliment my lips everywhere I go. They used to be super thin and now they are plump with gorgeous shape. As an incentive for posting a review, this reviewer received an entry into RealSelf’s monthly $500 gift card giveaway.

I am almost a year post op and I love my breasts

I had a breast reduction May of 2023. Dr. Howell and staff were amazing. Dr. Howell made me feel extremely comfortable and talked me through the procedure and healing expectations. Dr. Howell showed me pictures and honest realistic expectations of what my breast scars would look like in several stages of healing. I am almost a year post op. I love my breasts.

Q: Do I need to remove filler? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. TuckerApril 16, 2024

A: It is hard to tell from this photograph what needs to be done. I would seek a consultation from a board certified plastic surgeon to find her best options. There are several laser sick and be used on scars that may soften it. There is also the possibility he may need a scar revision.

Good luck with getting this worked out.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tucker

Q: does Emsculpt work on tightening up bra roll / back fat?
Answered by Dr. HowellMay 22, 2020

A: Hi.  I think that Emsculpt is great technology for what it is designed for as a noninvasive treatment for other areas.  For the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms and other areas I think it can give nice results as a noninvasive treatment.  I would not recommend it however for the bra roll areas.  In my practice SmartLipo is my go to procedure for bra roll's.  I do liposuction with that but am aiming to get additional skin tightening with the SmartLipo technology, which is a key component of what is needing to be corrected with typical bra roll's.  I would recommend consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon with good experience with body contouring to go over these options with you.

Good luck and take care,

Dr. Howell

Q: Can two areas be treated with Emsculpt in one session for the same price? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. HowellJanuary 30, 2020

A: Hi. I would certainly consider Emsculpt to help tone your abdomen and glutes.   The lack of downtime will likely also serve you well.

Good luck and take care,

Dr. Howell

Q: Is it safe for me to do Emsculpt on my stomach after lipo and abs sculpting?
Answered by Dr. HowellJanuary 14, 2020

A: Hi. In general, yes, you should be able to do Emsculpt after a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty.   It may further enhance your result.   It would be good to check with your plastic surgeon first though.

Good luck and take care, Dr. Howell

Q: I want to get emsculpt on my lower abdominal pouch. Where should the emsculpt paddles be placed?
Answered by Dr. HowellNovember 13, 2019

A: Hi.  Depending on your anatomy, you may be able to have 2 paddles placed side-by-side and those would likely end up stimulating both the rectus muscles as well as the oblique muscles.  I would recommend a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to help guide you through this process.

Good luck and take care, Dr. Howell
