This female in her 30's had a previous tracheostomy placed when she was younger in order to help her breathe. When the tracheostomy was removed, the wound healed into an unsightly, depressed scar that appeared like a thumbprint in the middle of the neck. Removed the scar, mobilized the neck musculature, and reoriented the scar in a horizontal axis. Once the redness fades, the scar will be inconspicuous.
