Post-Pregnancy Procedures
After giving birth and breastfeeding, many women experience lasting physical effects. The changes that accompany pregnancy can leave stretched skin and deposits of fat in your abdomen, hips, and thighs. Plus, many women who deliver via C-section are troubled by their post-surgery “ledge” scar. While you make many sacrifices for your children, this doesn’t have to be one of them. Mommy makeovers are designed to help restore your self-confidence and pre-pregnancy body. At my practice in Westport, Connecticut, many moms choose a tummy tuck and breast enhancement, sometimes alongside a facial rejuvenation procedure. Other options include a body contouring procedure, such as liposuction. Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty is one of the most popular body sculpting procedures at my Westport practice. Also known as a tummy tuck, this surgery flattens your midsection by removing excess skin and tightening the abdominal muscles, addressing stubborn concerns that resist even the most vigilant diet and exercise. For some patients, I recommend a combination of tummy tuck surgery and liposuction, to fully resculpt the midsection. People who have recently lost a lot of weight, men who are self-conscious about their sagging “spare tire,” and moms whose skin has been stretched by pregnancy all make great candidates. Depending on how much excess skin you have, you may only need a mini tummy tuck, which focuses on the lower abdomen (below the belly button).
