3 months of issues after starting 2nd Invisalign retainer. I was treated for thrush w/ 2 rounds of Nystatin and 7 days of Fluconazole. The thicker white areas cleared up but my tongue was still has cracks, inflamed taste buds & still turns white. We adjusted the retainers, no luck. I have gone back to the 1st retainer, meh results. Is something else wrong and the retainers are only irritating it? Or did the retainer do so much damage before we began tweaking it that my tongue just hasn't healed?
I had my first tray put in yesterday, went back today cuz one attachment came off and to sand down edges as it is cutting up my mouth in diff. Places. It was somewhat fixed but. But other parts still cutting and it stings and hurts and I am diabetic, I cannot be getting cuts like this in my mouth. I am very frustrated and discouraged as well as worried. How can tgis be fixed, how much more needs to be sanded down or is there a way to sand it where plastic is. Nott sticking up, cutting my tongue. It hurts!
I have teeth that slant inward. It may be from teeth shifting after a full mouth bite adjustment. I now bite cheeks at night, nip-pinch tongue edges. My already crooked teeth seem more crowded and closer. A prostodontist thought braces that can possibly even extrude teeth a bit for more height? Another said go with Invisalin? Another thought crowns? I'm trying to keep things simple. I am 70 and not rich. Your thoughts are appreciated. Need to get out of pain so I don't poke, bite soft tissues.
i am on my 43/57 tray, and i wear each tray one week each. the tray im wearing at the moment is unbelievably painful, the edges are really sharp no matter how much i try to file it down and at this point just wearing them will make my mouth bleed where they cut at it, and my tongue is covered in bumps and is numb :( i have 3 days until i would have switched this tray out, is it safe to start wearing 44 early and then just continue from my normal schedule ?
I just started Invisalign to fix a very minor issue (essentially one crooked lower tooth). My orthodontist is planning 34 sets of trays, which seems too many for such a minor fix. He also is having me wear each set for just a week instead of the two weeks I've read is typical. Not to mention that just 30 hours into wearing them, and I have cuts on my gums, lips, and tongue from the sharp edges. I'm getting suspicious that I'm being taken advantage of. Should I be concerned, or am I overreacting?
I just started my treatment with Invisalign and the aligners are killing my tongue.I just can't stand it. My dentist filed the aligners down and it still hurts a lot.I use wax but I have to reapply every day and it takes a long time.So I have an idea how to fix the problem, but I'm not sure if it's safe or if it will work. When I get to the 3rd tray I'll try applying clear silicone on the first tray and see if it will stick on the edge and make a difference. Has anyone tried something like this?
