I just got my x-rays, etc. yesterday. Can someone explain this attachments/buttons thing to me? That is not something I had been educated on... do they go on the back of your teeth?I have to say I'm looking forward to getting the whole process going. My two teeth next to my top front teeth are about 1/3 crowded behind my front teeth. I told myself that I'd fix them before I was 30. I'm 29 now so I'm finally getting it done! She is also going to trim down my front teeth - anyone had this done?
I have two buttons on my lower jaw for rubber bands to help correct my over bite. Today the button on my right side cane off. I was wondering if I should still wear the rubber band on my left until I can call to schedule an appointment to fix the other button or if it would be better to just not wear the rubber bands at all.
I play a contact sport and wish to remove my aligners during matches so I can wear a conventional mouthguard. I am concerned about knocking off the attachments. I had considered cutting the back of the mouthguard so that the buttons don't get knocked off. However given that one of my attachments has broken off as I removed my aligner today, I am concerned that even a fairly loosely moulded gumshield may cause the attachments to break off.
My last appointment with my orthodontis was on march, she put on buttons and gave me many sets of invasline. My new appointment was today, she said many buttons were lost, need to be reattached. But this time was different, she covered my whole teeth with adhesive!!! I found out when I got home. Is this normal? Will it hurt my teeth, and how do I get rid of this yellowish, I can't even smile, it's bothering me.
I am on tray 16 of my Invisalign and have just noticed that the buttons in my two lower teeth no longer have button spaces in my new trays. The trays are flat and seem to squish over the buttons. Is this normal or should the buttons be removed??
One of the first questions I asked was where would I need buttons. I was told on my side teeth but when they were put on they're on my front teeth. Also so they're not centered or anything and there are actually 2 on one of my top front teeth. I really hate they way look, is this how they're normally put on?
When I went for my consult, I was shown a model of a mouth with a set of Invisalign trays containing tiny, circular buttons, which I thought were no big deal. The buttons I received are considerably bigger, are jagged, and very sharp. They clip my mouth when I eat causing large canker sores to form. I also have sores from the edges of the trays in my mouth and tongue. I have to talk a lot for work, which exacerbates the pain. Is this normal? Is my dentist incompetent? What can I do?
I just got invisalign a few days ago with attachments on my canines and molars. Lucky I do not have attachments on the four front teeth. I asked for the whitest compound my dentist had as my teeth are really white to begin with. I was doing really well with keeping me teeth white but I had Indian curry last night (without my invisalign) but my attachments stained yellow REALLY bad. I'm embarrassed to smile because its such a huge contrast to my other white teeth. What other foods should I avoid?
So in essence, I am curious to know the percentage of cases in your experience that you have treated without the use of any attachments, buttons or interproximal reduction. Thank you.
