Can uneven swelling affect nostril shape/width?
By Reveire on 12 Feb 2010
Hey there, I underwent rhinoplasty Feb 2 2010 I've read on here that uneven swelling is to be expected after rhinoplasty, can this happen with the nostril shape/width as well? Yesterday I had my splint removed and I have been advised to tape the bridge.
After cast removal I noticed beautiful symmetry of my nostrils head on as well as from below. Today I noticed more flare in my right nostril head on and from underneath it looked all distorted and larger. It looks different from what it used to look like. Is this normal? I dont have any before photos sorry.

I had rhinoplasty done 11 days ago - it was septoplasty with the rhinoplasty too... Thing is I kknow it is swelling etc - but there is a slight dip in my nose below the bridge which wasn't there before.... But my main concern is my uneven nostrils.... I thought Septoplasty would correct this but they look EXACTLY the same - very uneven one nostril stops a lot higher and Im so upset as I spent so much money to get them fixed... Is it just swelling or because this part wasn't operated on
I had an open rhinoplasty 2 weeks ago to remove a bump of deformed cartilage from the left had side and had a stitch put in the tip to make it appear less bulbous. Now there appears to be a bump on the right side which wasn't there before and my columella is very swollen on left side so my nostrils look very uneven. Can the swelling of the columella still go down dramatically between 2 weeks and 6 weeks post op? I have a wedding in a month and am concerned! Thank you.
