Hi all, I am currently 7 days post op and managing. I have found that the worse pain is coming from my hips - the front part and the sides. It seems to be getting worse the more I try to move about and get walking. Has anyone else experienced this?

I agree with Kimmers. You really have to take it easy and let someone wait on you for the first week for sure and a little into the second week as well. My binder was very irritating and rode up as well. I would use gauze to cover the area that was not completely covered on my sides when my old binder rode up.When I went to see my doc to get my drains removed, I asked if it was something else that I could get and they recommended a body shaper from Walmart without any metal. I ran to Wal=Mart and picked up the binder and it was only $12 it is the body shaper that you pull on with the panty bottom. I loved it much more comfortable.

It sounds like you may need to rest a bit more.  You are so early in the process and at a critical healing time.  Kick those feet up and have someone wait on you for the next week or so.  Baby steps with the activity.  I found that I could be up for about two hours and then needed to totally rest for 2-3.  Frustrating I know but your body has just been through a major ordeal and needs time to heal.  That binder riding up is a real pain in the tush.  Try wearing a soft cotton tank top under it.  That seems to help with the riding up and rubbing on your skin.  Listen to your body...oh and it will scream at you when you over do it.   I know...we are women and think we can roar 24/7.  It is just in our blood and we can't help ourselves.

Good Point, Kimmer, and most of the time we don't listen well. I am trying to stay down, and actually doing a pretty good job of it.

I went in and had one of my drains removed yesterday. I walked to his office and then we did a bit of groceries and I came home and walked out to the barn to visit my horses. I think I may have overdone it and irritated everything to the point of no return! haha It is really bad today. Pain meds don't do a thing for it. My girdle is riding up too, but the more I pull it down, the more it pinches so I can't win! My drain area is irritated as well.
I hope we can do this! I long for the day when I can lay on my side! haha Good Luck and thank you for responding.

Hi there, I am 6 days post op and that is where most of my pain is also. The more I walk around the house/yard the more my hips hurt. I can't figure it out other than I am bent over and maybe it's putting more pressure on that area. The girdle seems to ride up at that point, too. Right now, the drains seems to be a little irritated?? We can do this.
