Tummy tuck vs. liposuction for more defined waist?

Tummy tuck vs. liposuction for more defined waist?

I’m 42 years old, 5’3” tall and weigh 130 pounds. I run and work out 4-5 times a week and eat healthfully. I had one child naturally 19 years ago. The scar in the picture is from a partial colectomy 2 years ago, but it does not bother me. I just want to feel comfortable and look good in my clothes. I would love to have a waist line and not a spare tire around my middle, but I’m not sure what is reasonable to expect and whether I need a tummy tuck or lipo.

An abdominplasty (aka tummy tuck) removes a very defined area of both loose skin and fat from the lower abdominal wall. It also allows for the muscular layer to be tightened in a Cortset type of way, which creates a smoother contour. It does this through what should be a finely placed incision along the bikini line. Liposuction just allows for the removal of fan and no skin, in most cases. In our practice we also offer 'Modified" procedures which can combine both procedures.

For me, you can do liposuction. Although the result is not as fast as you expect, it's very effective.
