Tummy Tuck insurance coverage?

By camju13 on 19 Aug 2009

Let me start by saying that I understand that a Tummy tuck is considered a cosmetic procedure. Yet, I find it interesting that insurance will not cover tummy tucks even though a lot of women are being strong armed into having repeat c-sections, and first time c-sections at a high percentage, which mainly cause issues such as stretched skin and the tummy shelf. Do women have a leg to stand on in trying to get there insurance to cover a tummy tuck, if their doctor and hospital are doing all that they can to force repeat c-sections?

I recently had a tummy tuck. the Dr. told me I had a 6 inch gap of the rectus muscle. biggest he had ever repaired to date. Even though it is considered cosmetic, due to severity should I have it turned in to my health insurance?
