Surgery Scheduled for June 24

By noseybegone on 03 Jun 2011

Who else is having surgery around this time? I would love to chat with someone who is going through the same things as I will be. I have always hated my nose. It is large and very crooked from genetics and an accident when I was 3 years old. I have always known I would get my nose fixed in my twenties. Now, the time is finally here. I have a wonderful surgeon and have already met one of the nurses. Although I am a naturally anxious person I am so excited for the surgery that I am no longer very scared. I just hope that my breathing will not be affected. My biggest source of anxiety is not being able to breathe. My surgery will be on a Friday afternoon. My aunt and father will take off work and take care of me through the weekend. I have two solid weeks off of work to heal properly. I don't plan to do anything during this time - I want to heal perfectly (with as little pain as possible!). Anyone going through surgery this month or next let me know so we can talk about our concerns and excitement! I would love to hear what others have to say. Since I have never had surgery before, I don't know what to expect!

Two weeks off will be great! I took one and it wasn't *quite* enough. You shouldn't feel much pain, per se. The worst part about it, in my opinion, is not being able to breathe through your nose for a few days. Do you know if your surgeon will be packing your nose? The surgery itself should be a breeze. You get an IV, they put you out, and you're waking up in the recovery room. If you can, ask for anti-nausea drugs, as you don't want to toss your cookies right after a nose job. Also, hopefully you've done your homework and your surgeon specializes in rhinoplasty and has done a lot of them. Very important! Good luck! We'd love it if you'd start your story over in our Rhinoplasty Review Community.
