What is your experience with radiesse injection? would you do radiesse again?

Dr. Bradley Friedman is on the board of Merz Aesthetics and used Radiesse in the eye trough area without telling me - he just injected it and I could not stop him for fear of him poking my eye if I tried to stop him. This has cost me years of waiting for it to go away and caused stretching of my skin on my cheeks as well as under my eyes. Now he posts on his site (Gr8t Skin) not to use it on the eye trough area.

My face has weird dents now. And, there is no discernible improvement. I'm 51 and have used Restylane and was happy with it. I have also used Botox a few times and was pleased.

I have had both Restylane and Radiesse. Though Restylane is less painful because the delivery is through a smaller needle, Radiesse lasts MUCH longer. I have had it for naso-labial folds. It lasts at least one year vs 4-6 months for Restylane.

Hey needle,

The community has not mentioned needle size mattering that is really interesting.

Thanks,

DON'T DO IT! The results may look good initially, but after a couple of weeks you WILL HAVE bumps, sometimes discolored. I also had no pain and no bruising but six weeks out I have mosquito-like palpible bumps in every area where the product was deposited. My results could be from a poor injector, the product is deposited and then molded - but since it is deposited in specific areas (as taught by radiesse), the outcome is fuller cheeks but lumpy.

hi Katherine wow are the lumps visible? or can they just be felt? well i have had radiesse 2 weeks ago for the cheeks. tiny bit put in the temples. a .8 am happy so far but am very worried if i will get discoloration or bumps thanks for sharing your experience. i felt no pain dr numbed the cheeks with ice. After she injected she did mold my cheeks and pressed on my temples messaged them. i was swollen first days little and i had one circular dark blue bruise by injection cite for about a week foundation wouldn't even cover it. feels little firm but looks great!

I have been using Restylane in my downturned corners of my mouth, lip, and nasal folds for many years along with Botox in the forehead. I have an amazing technician and she advises me well. I just had my cheeks injected with Radiesse and I am totally happy with the results. It looks very natural and not at all overdone. With fillers more is not always the best look and result. Subtle effect is always more pleasing. Since Radiesse is a thicker filler she advised using this product over Restylane or Juvaderm for the cheek area. Since the injections can hurt my tech used lidocane right in with the filler and I did not feel a thing. I have no brusing (and I am a bruiser) and am just a little tender in one side. There is no question in my mind there are people out there injecting these fillers and doing a very messy job with them because they aren't trained or competent. Be sure you know who you are using and remember if its a bargain...you beter BEWARE you may get a very bad job or not even get the correct product. I will be interested in seeing how long it lasts.

Please don't EVER allow radiesse to be put into your lip area. It is not a risk worth taking. Trust me!!! Sandi

Radiesse is contraindicated for the lips.It should not be injected in the lips...............

many people seem to blame the product when something goes wrong however they forget to take into consideration the Dr or nurse injecting the product. It is essential to see before and afters of the Drs own work........ also a dermal filler will not stop you from ageing. there is the misconception that if the filler is to last 12 months then so will the result.......... but you age around the filler as well.............. a filler can turn the clock back but it cannot stop it ticking........... good health, healthy skin and manages expectations are best with any procedure.

After much debate, indecision and research, I finally went for my 1st Botox (forehead) and Radiesse (under eyes) injections yesterday. I'm getting married in July and really want to look my best. I'm 36 and most days walk around looking so tired with dark cirlces under my eyes no matter how much sleep I get. I just was tired of looking tired all of the time! I have to admit, I'm always one to research anything and everything before I make a decision, so I was so thankful to find this message board. Many of the reviews about Radiesse on this board scared the pants off of me! But I decided to trust in my Doctor anyway and went for it. I'm happy to say that I had a very positive experience and just wanted to be able to post something positive on this product here in case anyone else like me is looking for some good feedback. Granted it has only been 1 day, but I feel good about the experience so far! My biggest complaint was my dark circles. I used to be near tears anytime I passed a mirror in a department store because I didn't recognize the person staring back at me. All I saw were the bags and circles! That's not how I felt on the inside. If there is one thing I've learned is that much of your results are so dependent upon your injector. I went to a double-board certified plastic surgeon who was wonderful and very reassuring that I would be happy with the results. He actually did the injections through my mouth (which I was not at all prepared for and hurt like hell), but this supposedly decreases the chances of bruising. I was very lucky as I did not bruise at all. I was a bit swollen and sore, however, ice-packs helped with that and I'm back at work today. The pain was over quickly enough and the results are well worth it! Now I can't stop looking in the mirror because I can't believe the results! I feel as though I may need to go back in a week or so for a "touch up" just to fine-tune everything but, overall am very pleased. I just hope it lasts as long as it's supposed to!

I have been doing radiesse, formerly radiance for 3 years. due to short longivity and cost I gquit about a year ago and decided to go with artefill. I got radiesse in costa rica for 500 cc. I live in Florida and struck a deal with a two for one, I brought my cousin and we both got artefill for 1k/per vial as opposed to 1800 which is what they wanted here. I am three days out, black and blue, a little achy but love the results. At this point I would have to say I am very pleased. went to a board certified plastic surgeon in altamonte springs, fl. I previously had a face lift in CR about 12 years ago. Since I dont want any more surgery as I dont want to look like some of the comedic entertainers, with the grouper mouth, I decided that I want to keep what I have with the fillers. I am 65 years old. hope this is helpful. Radiance, ie, radiesse was a whole lot more painful as it burned for days.
