Do you hate your after Radiesse look?

By synner on 17 Jul 2009

Just had radiesse injected for laugh lines wrinkles. My dermatologist also filled in the cheek area to lift the heavy fold. I hate the results. Looks like I had cheek implants and it looks terrible. It's been 4 days and the "swelling" has not come down. Any advice on how to reverse it? Is there anything I can do to help the stuff metabolize faster?

I had Radiesse injected into my laugh lines and was swollen and bruised for about 6 days then it went down and seemed to dissappear, but after 2 weeks it plumped up again and looks fine. I suggest you massage it to the desired shape. It'll get better trust me.

I hate the results of the radiesse. It has been 3 months since the injection and I can't wait for it to dissolve.

I had it over the wkend, i asked for jurvederm for my laugh lines but when i went it, doctor suggested i should get radiesse for it that i'll get better result and there were 2 nurses there kept telling me how great it is and i'll definitely like the result. i paid 900 for radiesse and i do not like the outcome. i trusted the doctor's recommendation, i was wrong, he gave me injection on my check area claimed it'll lift the area and helped gettin' rid of the minor laugh lines i have. I still have the lines but worst b'cuz now my cheek it's plumped and it made the lines more apparent and the area below my cheek it's lifted, ok enough said but i can't wait for it to go away but they said it lasts 1 to 2 dam yrs. I wish i can sue these doctors. i live in nyc, my doctor is on 14th street, i don't remember his name but if anyone wants to know, let me know. This is worst than just losing $900.

HI, did the radiesse ever dissolve.

Nope... still have the joker smile and hate the way I look. My face will never be the same. The puffy-ness is gone but the joker lines which I never had are permanent. I can't even imagine any surgery that could make them disappear because they are creases on the sides of both sides of my mouth.

I am so sorry to hear about your complaint, as I've got the same one! I went from a beautiful girl just wanting to get rid of the laugh lines, now i look like some sort of plastic surgery freak. I can't even physically smile anymore...and if i try it feels wierd but worse, looks horrid. Also I hate the way it feels like a to thick and wierd, and i think i can move it under the skin. I am just so pissed, its made me look mascaline almost, my income i rely alot on modeling so I mean thats sort of important to look the same as before, I hardly get jobs anymore. Did you girls find anyway to calm it down or get rid of it? I hear there may be a dissolvable, Lastly can you have legal grounds in a matter like this? This doctor has made me very self concious of problem areas he decided to add to the list...and thanks to his pushy nature I now look terrible, I am losing my confidence and not so social anymore. Please call me {edited} if you know of any advice!! Thanks and best luck to you too EDITOR NOTE: our guidelines prohibit posting of personal phone numbers.

I had Radiesse under eyes 6 months ago, it is still swollen and bruised, plus it itches. Bio Form, the company of Radiesse will not help with the problem. I think people are probably allergic to substance, and Bio Form doesn't want to make people aware of it. That is why they will not help. They can't. I too, have completely lost out on social life because I look like I got punched in both eyes. Did yours ever go away?

It so comforting to read other people going throught the same thing. I wish i could get an accurate account of how long it will last. At least then we can know how long we'll be stuck feeling like this, with deminishing social lives.

My doctor was {edited} Beware he gives horrible injections let him do my lips too...big mistake it like outlined them...rather than as i asked plump underside of lip so more natural curve up - I look the freaking JOKER plus my radiesse disaster with him, plus he acts like your not that important, I dont think he cares if the products used cause complicatoins...I look like I have a "muzzle" now plus made whole face very round like...b/c when it hardens it pushes any other skin near lines all around...my nose is now even a wierd shape...now bulbous on the end So upset ;( EDITOR NOTE: You can provide your doctor information in a Radiesse review. I sympathize with you. I just had radiesse today and I HATE the results. I, too, look like the Joker. I don't have my natural smile anymore and the nasial folds are even more prominent because the Doctor injected the radiesse too high. I'm sick over it.... I can honestly say that I will never get this again. I had better results with the restalyne. I will be wearing tons of makeup now just to cover up what this Doctor did. The most difficult part of having anything done to your face is finding a good Doctor. Technique is everything!!! Unless you know someone who has had good work done... I wouldn't recommend having anything done to your face because you may be disappointed.

You have to wait at least two weeks before really knowing how it will look in the end. usually if your face is really puffy you really need to wait. In fact, many complain (it happened to me) that radiesse didn't fill as much as they wanted. be patient. cheeks really make you look younger after they settle.

I would try castor oil packs, this oil is very natural & gentle and has the ability to break up internal scar tissue... You could google castor oil packs...you saturate a soft cloth apply to the area and then put a hot pack on for 30 -60 minutes. I had a wonderful experience with my radiesse treatment exactly a year ago, and was looking into it again to redo...and here i've found all these bad experiences here, I think it is the fault of dishonest unskilled practitioners, mine was a PA not an MD and it was great. I always thought if I hated it and looked like a wacko i'd do the castor oil packs, please let me know if it works.

Hi Lisa, thank you I will try that, sima

Sima, Go see a dermatologist. A Plastic Surgeon put Radiesse into my lips and I looked like Marge on the Simpsons! I went to a very highly recommended dermatologist/plastic surgron and he gave me kenalogg shots, on several occasions. Thank god, I 'm looking more like myself as the days go on, it's now been 3 weeks and I'm satisfied with the results. Aloha, Wendy

Has anyone tried the castor oil packs yet? I am desperate for something as I hava a similar story. Over two years ago I had what is supposed to be Radiesse injected and hated it from the first minute as it was done poorly. I was not able to look at my release form and I was not able to get my records as I requested them through a plastic surgeon I saw for his opinion. THe original injector claim that they were lost. I waited patiently for it to go away as I was told to wait 8 - 12 months, then 18 months, then 2 years. Now at almost two and half years I still have it in my face and am concerned that he may have used a permanent filler in order to get rid of an undesireable product before he closed down shortly afterwards. I used massage to try to break down the Radiesse recently tried a small amount of Kenalog injection in case it was scar tissue. I had no result except for some atrophy, another problem to contend with. Please let me know if anyone tried the castor oil packs. I'm almost afraid to try because now I'm not sure what is in my face.

Whoever complaining about too much of it just wait out, you will be happy in the end.The biggest drawback is usually it is not enough. For these who had it under eyes, big mistake, it is not reccomended for this area, along the orbital bone on the cheek is fine but not under eyes.
Nasrin (1 post) 6 Feb 2012

Hi Sima, I have the same problem and is killing me, I just heard that maybe Perlane would work but I'm not
sure. if you find something please send me an e-mail or
if I found out something else I will let you know. I hope it happens.

Nasrin,
I am NOT a doctor or qualified to give you medical advice.. but, I have seen a couple results that I did not like.. I can give you a few things that were conveyed to me.. again, this is NOT medical advice just what was given to me...DO NOT MASSAGE the area..you can cause the product to migrate and you may not like where the product goes.. it also depends on how long you have had the filler injection.. You can go back to your doctor and have him inject a saline solution to break it up but, it's not a guarantee.. it takes multiple times to do it..expect to bruise and be aggressive to break it up..also, go to a doctor and explain the situation, tell him/her that some people have used a Fraxel (SP?) laser over the area and had some results, again it must be that type of laser only to penetrate deep from what I was told...some people said that they liked it afterwards..Now, depending on what you don't like some people have other filler injected around it to fill in the ruts, if that is your problem.. It all depends on what your problem is..honestly, the best thing to do is go back to the doctor ( I hope a doctor did this) and have him call the manufacture and they will give him instructions on what to do.. they will only speak to doctors and not patients..Most good docs will want to please you and try to fix this..as they really do not want unhappy patients..there is no magical fix..just time and hopefully some things that can help.. again, this was just info conveyed to me..I hope this helps..

I had Radiesse 6 months ago under eyes. Who would of known these awful results! Still swollen and bruised, and Bio Form (the company of Radiesse) will not help. They do not answer any questions. I don't know what to do.
