Pre op apt tomorrow and nearly backing out.......... help

I get that because I'm going to need a lot of help, too. But there's no way I'm backing out. Just remember that you're important, too, and it's important to feel good about the way you look. Wanting to take pride in your appearance is nothing to feel guilty about. Good luck and remember you are not alone!

Thank you so so much for this encouragement ladies. I went for my bloods done today and paid in full so there's no turning back now. I feel sick as a dog now that it's really happening though. This surgery has been booked for 4 months but it's only the last couple of days that I've been having second thoughts. Do you think that's just because it's getting closer. This is something I've wanted to do for a number of years but it's taken me til now to save enough money to pay for the darn thing, so it's not as if it's an overnight decision. Reading some of the reviews on this mega fabulous site has been so helpful though and it looks like a lot of others have had the same thoughts that I am having now. I have a massively supportive husband (although he doesn't really want me to get it done, he's totally behind my decision because he knows how important it is to me). Yes I have lots of other things I could spend the money on but I can honesty say that my stomach is totally ruining my life and I'm fed up of dieting and not seeing any results on my tummy. I think 3 babies in 5 years just took it's toll on it and it's never gonna get any better without surgery. anyways, once again thanks for the kind words and I'll be speaking to you after my surgery as i go on vacation tomorrow. See you when I got my gorgeous flat tummy. whoopee xxxx

THIS WILL BE THE BEST THING YOU HAVE EVER DONE FOR YOURSELF!! Honestly, there will never be anything that you will do for yourself that will impact your life so positively as this! The recovery is a journey and a process but it is such a small price to pay for the improvement in your quality of life and your self esteem! I am a little over 8 weeks post op and I'm ecstatic every time I glance at my tummy in the mirror or put on my smaller clothes!

wow 45isnew25, your words really made me sit upright in my seat lol. You're right though, we as mums give all our time and energy into family life and we never really do anything for ourselves.just checked out your pics and you look amazing. Well done you. I hope I get the same results. 8 more days to go and it can't come quick enough now, although I'm sure I'll be physically sick on the morning of my surgery x

You will do great and you won't need as much help as you think, I'm sure. The first couple of days you are down and out but then you will begin to move more and begin recovering well. Stay busy with your family, cleaning the house, pre preparing meals and getting your recovery spot ready and before you know it you will be waking up with a brand new you! You will do great!! I also had guilt prior to surgery. I told my PS at my pre-op that I don't think I can do this "I might die, am I crazy, it might not look good, etc...." He immediately put my mind at ease. Think of why you want to do this. It is not selfish. We women do so much and we really deserve to look & feel good about ourselves & our bodies. The recovery is long & you will have your post op "what did I do?" & ups & downs, but I can tell you that at 12 weeks post op (this Friday), I am sooooooo happy that I did this. I have the flattest sexiest tummy - I still cannot believe I look like this again! And wait until my 6 month post op - I can start working out those abs again! I can't even imagine how great I will look & feel. Good luck to you & don't feel guilty. We are all here for you!
