Post op swelling and sinus infection

By miss.tini on 18 Jan 2011

I had rhinoplasty 2 weeks ago. When splint was removed my nose looked perfect but it have been swelling ever since, almost reaching its pre-op shape and I have developed a sinus infection. Will my nose look as great as when splint was removed? Does sinus infection hurts the appearance/healing?

Hi, I also experienced the same! I was delighted when the splint came off and then a couple of days later the old nose was back!!! :-( Now I am seeing a difference and I only had my op 3 weeks ago. How did you know you had an infection?

Best Wishes

PS, arn't these doctors just great and very accessible, fab site!
Hi!

I went through the same thing. My nose looks great when the splint and the casting came off. Soon after, the swelling got pretty bad and my nose returned back to its original shape. I was so upset about it.

Now 4 months post Op, my nose is looking better and better each day. I have thick skin and it takes longer for the swelling to go down. I'm very happy with my results as is. My PS said that my nose will get even slimmer and more refined in the future, which is a plus ++++..

My nose now looks even better than the one at the time the splint came off. So, hang in there.

Your swelling will go down. As far as the sinus infection, you should contact your surgeon about that asap.

Hope this helps. Please keep us updated on how you're doing and consider writing a review of your experience in our Rhinoplasty Review Community.

Photos also really help.

Take care of yourself.
