Please Share Revision Experiences with Dr. Denenberg

I am considering a revision with Dr. Denenberg. So far he has been upfront about what to expect and very helpful in answering my questions. I really do like what he suggested. But I would love to hear experiences from others who have had revisions done by him.   I would love to hear from people who have been his patients recently...and even see pictures if you are willing to share :-)   Thanks!

Thank you, Dheart, I just saw that you wrote me back. I never went back to check. But anyway, I did talk to my surgeon about removing the grafts he put in, he used a spreader graft and it made my bridge look wider. He also changed my tip and I hate it. He said he won't touch it so I have to go to someone else. I don't know if anyone will touch it. It's so disturbing looking in the mirror - I am over a year post op (worst, most depressing year of my life). I just wish I left my nose alone.

Hi, there were several parts of my nose that had to be corrected: 1. Most people have a little curve between the eyes, after the forehead the nose goes down a bit and then goes up again in the middle part and the tip. In my case there was no curve, there was nearly a straight line from the the forehead over the nasion (the part between the eyes) till the tip of my nose (like a Greek statue) which made my nose appear longer as it actually was, so Dr. Denenberg has deprojected the nasion, this means he has taken off cartilage of this upper part of the nose. 2. the middle part of my nose was too strong, it is smaller now and fits in with the other changes 3. the tip was droopy, Dr. D. has lifted it slightly, it has a great angle now and looks young and fresh 4, the tip lacked definition, Dr. Denenberg has given a nice shape to it 5. the base of the nose had dropped, the base was lifted by Dr. Denenberg. You are writing that you are not sure if anyone is willing to take on your case - did you have contact with a doctor already on your revision? Why do you think that it is so difficult to revise? It is very helpful to look at the site facialsurgery.com. There you can see various cases and Dr. Denenberg even shows photos of the surgery - you can cloak them so you would not see any details if you do not want to. By reading the features on this website I could learn a lot about the anatomy of the nose and it helped me to understand the aesthetic problems and the surgery as well. Suddenly I could see things from a more rational and angle and I could describe my wishes more clearly to the doctor. I apologize for my English, I am German and sometimes the wording may not be correct ...

Hi - I was just curious as to what you had done, Dheart, in your revision. I am looking to get a revision too but I'm not sure of anyone who is willing to take on my case.

Oh I meant to ask, how did you find the recovery after?
Thanks,

I had no pain at all, the first day I had to breathe through the mouth, which is normal and it feels like having a cold. When Dr. Denenberg took off the splint after one week I was ready to go out. We went directly from the practice to the airport and flew back to Germany. There were a lot of people all over there but nobody looked at me or could see anything special in my face. Of course I could see that it was still swollen but it was not recognizalbe for others. Are you still in the process of looking for a surgeon?

Well, I am in the process of finding the money to go ahead with the surgery! If I do have the surgery I am 99% sure I will go with Dr. Denenberg. This will be my third surgery (2nd revision) and I want it to be the last! It sounds like you had an awesome recovery! I am so curious about what your before and afters look like...are your pictures up on Dr. D's website? Or would you mind letting me see? You can email me directly if you are more comfortable: oceanglowkat (at) gmail (dot) com

Thanks,
Kat

Dear KitKat2,
- just to make it clear: the first two surgeries were performed by doctors in Germany, then I read in the internet about Dr. Denenberg and contacted him. So he corrected what the previous surgeons had "messed up".

Dear KitKat2
I just came across your question regarding a revision with Dr. Denenberg. I had a 3rd revision with Dr. Denenberg in 2009 and the result is absolutely great. He made exactly the dream nose which I always wanted to have - and this was extremely difficult because of the scarring of the first and second surgery. If you are still in the process of decision please let me know whether you have any further questions. I came a long way from Germany to Omaha to Dr. Denenberg and I am so happy I did all this travelling because it was 1000% worth it!
Best regards
Dheart
