Please look at my picture...what is this? 11 days post op full tt

Full tt with muscle tightening 11 days ago. Although very excited about the belly being so flat, I am very concerned about the area above the scar, specifically on the sides. Those creases were not there prior to surgery and I can't tell what it is. Have questioned surgeon twice now and says he won't even discuss it until one month b/c I still have so much swelling and so much healing to do. Very frustrated with that and concerned that it will not smooth out. I realize I am still swollen and will see changes but this looks like either the skin wasn't pulled right or the lipo was not done well. Anyone have any thoughts? I've looked all over the internet and have not seen one result like this or anything close :(

update: Had another f/up w/ps who reassures me this is all swelling that will go down and not to worry. Sides are very firm, not wrinkling skin...he says once the swelling goes down the creases should go down. I've just never seen the creases and am trying to be patient.

Glad your PS put your mind at ease. I think we have to remember that we're all different and we all heal differently. I just need to keep telling myself that so when it's my turn and I'm discouraged by something, I'll know it's just normal for me.

Tag- I had the same rippling effect and freaked a lil too until my ps assured me it was normal puckering from pulling the skin so tightly, it goes away after a few weeks.

Oh Prissy thank you so much for this. I'm still discouraged daily by seeing these creases on the sides. I saw him again yesterday and he still assures me there is lot of swelling and that it it going to be a great result at the end. I have no patience for this but trying to not make myself crazy. Again, thank you so much for your post. You are the first one I've seen with the same issues and I've looked at hundreds! lol Take care, glad you are enjoying your new tummy!

Thanks "mixter" I agree, I am so impatient for this type stuff. I did just get my 2nd shower since the surgery and it felt so good! Exhausted now but it was good :) Thanks for your comments :) Good luck with yours.

Hmm looks like swelling to me.  Give it some time..

That looks like a really low incision! Maybe that's why you haven't seen similar results in other's photos. You'll be glad for the low incision when you heal though. Easy to hide!

if you could only see my before, can I add a picture to this post?
TAG4688 4 Apr 2011
Thanks everyone. It IS a very low incision. Initially I thought the sides were too low for my bathing suit but it's fine thankfully. You know funny, we never really discussed exactly where that would be so I guess I"m glad it's low. It definitely won't show in any low riding pants or bikini although I won't be wearing one of those again lol :) Thanks again for your input!

What! I am 49 and not 1 but 2 bikin's were the first thing I purchased in preparation for my TT (25 years without wearing on - it is now MY turn!)

I will definitely be flaunting mine :)

You guys are killing me! lol I'll be happy as a lark to have a tankini, ok, maybe I won't be as concerned as having a full length tankini but I don't see a bikini. You ladies are awesome! Go for it!
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 4 Apr 2011

Oh you can do the bikini!!   That was one of my biggest fears and I tell you what...it is so fun!
Jessiest 7 Apr 2011
YES!!! Me too!!!I can not wait to wear a bikini! I missed out on bearing my belly when I was a teen. WANT TO DO IT NOW!

OMG isn't it wonderful how losing weight and old skin makes you look so much younger! Wow! I can't wait...I thot I was a lil too old, one of my daughters thinks I'm crazy and asked me if i was going thru some midlife crisis? LMAO I said nope...I want to look good, be fit and healthy and it is definately MY TIME to get my tummy back!! They tease me and say"If you see mom washing the car outside in a bikini call her in" I don't think I would go that far...but maybe a shorter top! Yeah!!!!!

OMG! You have to wear a bikini! You look fantastic!! I hope you're swelling has eased up and that you're feeling great!
TAG4688 14 Apr 2011
Thanks Beyond Busy...I am actually swelling just as much if not more than in this picture. I've lost my waist and am so discouraged but trying to stay positive and know that I'm only 3.5 weeks out and there is still much time to recover. I pray it all goes down and the creases disappear and I get my waist back! :)
mixter 14 Apr 2011
Tag, just go back and read more post op stories. You'll feel better when you see how common it is. Stay positive!
TAG4688 14 Apr 2011
Thanks Mixer, I'm trying. I have only found 2 people w/this type of issue but was thankful to see both of theirs got better w/time. I see alot of swelling comments but most are just swollen all over and don't have these lovely creases and low spots Oh well, nothing I can do but wait and see right? Patience....thanks for your encouragement
