Please look at my picture...what is this? 11 days post op full tt

Full tt with muscle tightening 11 days ago. Although very excited about the belly being so flat, I am very concerned about the area above the scar, specifically on the sides. Those creases were not there prior to surgery and I can't tell what it is. Have questioned surgeon twice now and says he won't even discuss it until one month b/c I still have so much swelling and so much healing to do. Very frustrated with that and concerned that it will not smooth out. I realize I am still swollen and will see changes but this looks like either the skin wasn't pulled right or the lipo was not done well. Anyone have any thoughts? I've looked all over the internet and have not seen one result like this or anything close :(

I've gotten 2 other opinions. Without going out of town, I'm kind of out of options here. The one I would like to use says he would not use the mesh unless he gets in there and sees that my muscles/tissues etc are weak. I do need to do a review, just haven't made the time. So frustrating. The original PS didn't do lipo on the sides and now I'm stuck w/these "oranges" on my hips. He wants $1100 to fix that. I feel like I already paid for that and there shouldn't be a fee. So frustrating. Thanks for your response!

Thanks for your response. The other surgeon wants 8k to fix it which is almost what I paid the first time. Current ps wants to now use mesh to do repair for $2100. I am not sure what I am going to do. I agree, it is very rare for this to happen which makes me think it was technique however I have seen a few instances on here where it has occurred. There's a possibility my muscles have just lost their elasticity and won't hold I suppose but I sure hope not. Unfortunately the only way to know is to try again! :(

I would get a 3rd and 4th opinion. Tell them exactly what happened and exactly what the original PS wants to do to correct the problem, the mesh. If the others think mesh is a bad idea, I would not go back to first doc. If other PS agrees that mesh should fix the problem then I would probably let the original doc fix it. You can't go wrong with additional opinions. If you dont have current pics up under a review, it would be great for you to do so. You can get additional thoughts, opinions,etc..maybe a referral for a great PS in your area. Best wishes to you.

For anyone that is interested, my stitches had come undone and I am considering surgery yet again. Those creases were caused by ps not doing lipo on hips (as per two other ps opinions). They are no longer creases but left "balls of fat" on my sides that look strange, not contured. He has agreed it needs to be touched up. My upper body looks pregnant again (no, I haven't gained weight). Its been a long 10 months and I'm not sure I'm willing to go through the recovery again w/no guarantees it will work. Just wanted to post an update. These things can happen and for those considering I thought I'd update. Not to try to persuade people against it, just to show that it can come undone and you can be left w/what you started w/less the excess skin.

If you have a revision I would go to another doc. If they work actually came undone, don't let the same PS do it again b/c he will likely use the same technique and could happen again. From what I understand, it is very rare for the sutures to give and come undone but it certainly can happen. I am really sorry for your outcome. no one wants to go through all this trauma only to ahve the pooch return. If your upper abs came loose, I wonder if your PS did mucsle repair all the way up to the breast bone. many PS include flank lipo as part of their tt cost so you have a smooth result, maybe find another doc who includes flank lipo. Again, very sorry for your disappointment and thank you for sharing, updating.

Looks good to me too :) I massaged my skin with Palmer's oil because it was dry, I'm using it for my scar now, probably vitamin E would help.

Thanks Flowergirl1 - I wish I could post another pic but you can't add add'l photos to this one. I've still got the creases, still swollen. :( Still waiting.....I think the creases are better but still there for sure!!! Right now, it's causing some weird pooches on my sides so my hips are actually bigger. Praying it is all still swollen and will continue to improve. I have to say I was smaller in that picture b/c my upper abdomen wasn't swollen. Now that I'm up and moving around I get the upper ab swell that you read so much about. That will pass in time.

Thanks Mixer, I'm trying. I have only found 2 people w/this type of issue but was thankful to see both of theirs got better w/time. I see alot of swelling comments but most are just swollen all over and don't have these lovely creases and low spots Oh well, nothing I can do but wait and see right? Patience....thanks for your encouragement

Thanks Beyond Busy...I am actually swelling just as much if not more than in this picture. I've lost my waist and am so discouraged but trying to stay positive and know that I'm only 3.5 weeks out and there is still much time to recover. I pray it all goes down and the creases disappear and I get my waist back! :)
