How much help is needed for recovery?

Posted 12 Mar 2011

Hello - I am scheduled for a TT, BA and lipo on April 4th 2011. I am a 35 yo mother of two kids (7 and 6). Ihave taken a full 2 weeks off of work, and I am flying my sister in to help me for the first week. Will I need another adult with me the second week to recover? I am a single parent (divorced). My kids will be in school, then daycare - so I will be by myself throughout the day. Please share your thoughts.

I would suggest having someone the second week as well. You will still have a lot of healing to do and you will be tired and won't feel like chasing after your kids. I am just over 3 weeks post-op and have been on my own for a few days with my four kids. I feel pretty good, just have to take it easy when I can.

Good advice, Proud Mommy.

I would schedule someone for the second week so you can continue to focus on recovery. My husband was home the first week, but then decided to take the second week of last minute to keep me from "doing too much". I've been there, and done that. Definetely have someone for the second week!!

I haven't gone through this myself, but from what I've read, assuming you are complication free, you should be good the second week. Just make sure to rest, rest, rest.
