Managing my kids after surgery

Hi Ladies - I am scheduled for my BR surgery in 3 days and I am excited/anxious (as seems to be VERY normal!) - but one of the things I am most anxious about is how to manage my kids after I am home.  The older one is 7 and so he is pretty self-sufficient and understanding, but the little one is 3 (and a solid 30 lbs) and will have a hard time with mommy not picking him up!  How long before I can lift my little one again - what has your experience been?   thanks!

thanks! I can deal with slow - I'm trying to prepare my husband for all the whining he has in his (immediate 4-week) future... :)

Be very cautious the first month.  My doctor would not let me lift anything over 3-5 pounds the first two weeks and then not over 10 pounds from weeks 2-4.  Slow goes it..
