This isnt a post about Dr Barrera. This is a post where I am asking questions about people who have seen Dr K. Could you please post your sales pitch about Dr Barrera and start a NEW post instead of rudely over taking my post. You are contaminating my post with your unwanted comments about Dr B. Please be respectful and stop doing it. AGAIN- I AM ASKING....HAS ANYONE HAD CONTACT WITH DR KOELIKER BUT NOT GONE THROUGH PATS HOTEL/HOUSE STAY??????

I would suggest that you contact Dr. Carlos Barrera. He is an amazing surgeon and achieves very natural results. Check him out and see what you think.

This is my third try to post this. I am sure Dr. Barrera is a good surgeon as I have been in contact with other's who have had surgery and are very happy with the results. However it is only fair to say that one person considering surgery sent me this article and is still considering the surgery anyway. This could happen anywhere and whenever one gets surgery or is in the hospital. ps I am not a fan of Dr. K's so this is not sent in animosity. I cannot put a link but you can look it up in the ottawa citizen newspaper and other papers in Canada under woman almost died after getting infection following surgery in Mexico on this past august 23

I also want to go to Dr K but not pay 1800 (pat raised the price!) to stay at Pat's. I would like to stay in MA though...I also emailed Dr K but he ignored my emails. I think prob Pat will drop him if he sees other patients privately..

I agree it is too strange that someone has to stay at casa marino in order to get surgery from Dr. K. I know several people including myself that decided not to go to Dr. K. because of this. There are great places to stay and get help after surgery too. If anyone is interested in a more direct contact I would be glad to tell you but I doubt it will help. I heard that Dr. Barrera did Pat's first two face lifts.

I agree that being forced to be demanded to stay at Casa Marino in order to have cosmetic surgery by Dr. K. is very suspicious. I have Dr. K's direct contact if anyone is interested. I also heard that Pat M. had her first two fl's done by Dr. Barerra.

I agree with kiwi2013 because there are some fabulous places to stay in SMA that are more beautiful that Casa Marino and right around $100ish. I've had a F/L before and went right home and slept off the twilight sedation and got up the next day and did my normal at-home routine.

I called today and asked if I could stay somewhere else and still see Dr. Koelliker and the answer was no.

I am curious....Dr. Barrera does excellent work, why would you pick Dr. Koelliker?

Dr. Barrera raises the sideburns. He doesn't provide an alternative. He also creates pixie earlobes- at least on one client.

Dr. Barrera's patients do NOT have "pixie" earlobes. He is totally aware that no woman wants that type of results!! This would only occur if the patient had a prior facelift and the earlobe was limited due to that prior procedure.

A patient should have the option to select a location of their choice for their recovery period. There is no real "care" necessary following this type of procedure.

If you do not raise the sideburns there would be a fold in the cheek area. You might keep in mind that you could possibly be trading a scar for a minimal reduction in the sideburns. Dr. Barrera is an artist and his specialty is the face lift procedure. His work is amazing!

I take it you work for Dr. Barrera. He is a great surgeon, no doubt. And many women don't mind the lifted tuft. But, others do. They find out only after surgery about the effect of this type of procedure. Newer techniques don't involve a fold in the skin. There is less lift, though, with the incisions that preserve the sideburns. I think that a lot of women go in to surgery without knowledge of that there sideburns will be raised by Dr. Barrera. I think that they should be informed to make their own decision. For me, it's a deal breaker. For others it isn't.

Hmmm interesting..I would discuss it with him. He did an excellent breastlift on me and i am very pleased with the results. You can see the pics. I do empathize with what you are saying though, because i myself had a midface lift in California by one of the top PS's in Palm Desert and.. he did raise my sideburns. I think it's important to discuss it with the doctors first. Techniques are always changing.. Best wishes xx

Great question, Kiwi! Based on the lack of replies you're received thus far I have to think the answer is no. That's too bad...I'm sure there are many people who would prefer to deal with this doctor directly instead going through this woman and being forced to stay at her pricey recovery house.

There should be other options. I would suggest you tell her no that you prefer to find your own accomodations.. There are plenty listed on Craigslist. You might need help the first couple of days but that is not a big problem..For a week of help and accomodations it shouldn't cost more than $500. I'd do it lol!!

I agree. It's way too expensive and there of plenty of other places go recuperate after surgery.
