How Long After IPL or Other Laser Treatment Can Someone Have Microdermabrasion? I am an educator at a school working with students. We are updating our consultation form and would like to know the safest recommended time a client should be off topical antibiotics, retin-A, etc. and how long after a laser treatment can they have microdermabrasion at the school?

A: Microdermabrasion after IPL treatment

The ideal time frame to perform a microderm after a client has received an IPL treatment is 7-14 days after their IPL. This will enable the pigmentation and sun damage to be drawn to the surface for exfoliation without residual erythema from the IPL treatment still present. Hope that helps! God Bless!

Since microdermabrasion is only affecting the outer layer of the skin and fillers like Juvederm are used deeper in the skin, they could be done on the same day if desired.
