I'm 22, Asian, my lips are pretty full already, but I've always wanted a larger top lip-had 1 syringe of Restylane injected last week. It really hurt. My lips looked great for two days. On the third day, I woke up and they had completed deflated. They look exactly like my natural lips. I know this because I took pics before the procedure and each day following. The doctor says I should come back for a second syringe, but will it make a difference? it really hurt and was expensive...
Several items in your question raise red fags:
- vanishing "Restylane"
-painful treatment
The treatment should be painless and demonstrable. Unless you were injected with either water or saline, which would be absorbed, Restylane would remain and an increase in lip volume should be obvious.
Something to thInk about.
If I decide to get this done can they maybe inject a little spot on my hand or somewhere before just to make sure I'm not allergic or going to have a reaction. I would hate for them to inject the lines around my lips then i have an allergic reaction exspecially somewhere noticable. Thank you for your time.
I have used Restylane for years and have not encountered a single case of Restylane allergy. The active ingredient in Restylane, Hyaluronic Acid, is found in several of our tissues including the eyeballs and joints. If you are insistent on having a skin test nonetheless a small amount can be injected in the skin and inspected a week later r redness and induration.
Good Luck
I had a half syringe under each eye with no results for dark circles.. Injector told me up front I need full syringe under each write, I'm going back in 2 wks for other syringe. Is it possible I wont see any results??
You are raising 2 issues in your question : the ideal volume of Restylane in filling the Tear Trough and it's use for dark circles around the eyes. Restylane is not useful in clearing dark circles around the eye. It s meant to be injected deeply around the eye. Surgical injection would result in bluish reflection from the skin (Tindall effect). The ideal volume varies from person to person. There is nothing wrong in undertreating. You can always have more Restylane placed in the area.
