Decrease of Hearing After Facelift? It's Been Almost 2 Months and my Ears Feel Blocked.

It's bee almost 2 months and my ears still feel like they are blocked up with something. My hears seems to be muffled. I have flush my ears multiple times with ear flushes without result. Doctor says this is normal.

A: Decreased hearing after your facelift could be from debris in your ears.

During facelift surgery, I routinely place a sterile gauze in my patients' ears to prevent blood from accumulating. Occasionally the gauze may fall out and blood can enter the ear canal and impair hearing. You should consider consulting a reputable ENT specialist to discuss your concerns. If you have wax and blood in your ears from facelift surgery, this may be delicately removed.

Hope this helps.

Wondering About Facelift- How Painful? Do I Need To Treat My Eyelids Too? (photo)

im a 47y.o with lower eye bags and jowls starting, im considering lower bleph and one surgeon i spoke with suggested a standard lift for correction of jowls and overall sagginess. im open to any input. How much pain is involved with a facelift and lower bleph

A: Upper bleph and lower bleph and midface lift

For the best results i really think you need to also do upper blepharoplasty and lower bleph and midface lift.

Good luck!

What Is The Risk Of a Facelift, Revision Rhinoplasty, and Laser Resurfacing at the Same Time?

I just turned 50 and am showing my age. Thinking of brow & neck lift (or full face lift), laser resurfacing, & revision rhinoplasty at the same time. Is this too much for one day? Too much risk to be under anesthesia for so long? Possible to do with local?

A: Combining a facelift and a revision rhinoplasty may be too much surgery at one time.

I read your concern:

You could have facelift and nose job surgery at the same time, but if you have a complicated revision rhinoplasty, you may be better off separating the surgeries. Revision rhinoplasty is one of the most challenging operations in the arena of facial plastic surgery. Revision rhinoplasty alone may exceed 2.5 hours, especially if you require cartilage grafting.

In my practice, a short-scar facelifting takes around 3 hours. And a brow lift may be an additional 2 hours.

In my opinion, combined facial plastic surgical procedures that exceed 5 hours is excessive. I do not think it would be feasible to have this much surgery under local anesthetic, and I perform nearly all rhinoplastic procedures with general anesthetic.

I hope this is helpful for you.
