Was Told I Don't Qualify For Restylane Below The Eyes, What Are My Options?

I have very sunken eyes which have become musch worse over time, you wouldn't recognise me from a year ago? and i get tension headaches I went to a plastic surgeoun and he said the fat under my eyes is fine and I wouldnt qualify for restylane, what are my options?? i also had upper blepharoplasty 18 months ago and i think too much fat was taken off , please see photo

A: Lower lid augmentation with Restylane or Fat Injections

The photo you sent does show deeply set eyes, but in some cases like yours I have used about 1 syringe of Restylane per lower lid. Some physicians do not have experience with using large volumes of filler in the lower lids, and is probably why your surgeon was reluctant to do so.

An alternative would be fat augmentation. Fat is harvested from your abdomen, or thighs and micro-injected to your lower lids and midface. You may want to seek opinions from other surgeons in your area who have more experience with this procedure.

Upper Eyelid Swelling 4 Months After Restylane in Tear Troughs

Had restylane in my tear trough and cheeks Nov. 16, 2010 w/ bruising & swelling under my eyes post procedure. Early Jan, 2011, I woke up to swollen upper eyelids & around my tear ducts. It's not gone away. I've seen my GP & an eye doctor. It's not an infection. Antibiotic drops didn't work, neither did drops for allergies. The docs think it's from resty. even though it wasn't injected in that area. I'm very upset & don't know what to do. Should I have it dissolved?

A: Restyalane swelling 4 months later-Unlikely

Hi, when I read this and I saw you sought medical care I was unnevred.  This in very unlikely due to your Restylane injection.  Your primary care physician must have not have heard you when you told them your injection was 4 months prior and you woke up suddenly with the swelling.  Please seek another opinion.  There are many causes of bilateral UPPER eyelid some of which are serious.

Lips Swollen After Restylane

I had restylane injected in my upper lip yesterday. Directly after, I looked great, ran errands, even bought lipstick! But this morning (it's been about 15 hours post procedure), my lips are swollen like a duck bill. It looks terrible. I've had resty in my lips numerous times, and I've never seen this. I'm usually very conservative, but my doctor used a tiny bit more this visit. I'm scared. Will my lips go back to their look from yesterday? I have a big public event in four days!

A: Swollen Lips after Restylane

It is very common to have swelling after Restylane or Juvederm injected into the Lips.  Almost every pateint experiences this in this area.  Typically the selling lasts for 3 to 7 days.  Even though you have had this procedure in the past, each injection is diiferent.  You may not have iced the area as much as you have done in the past or may have remembered the amount of swelling you had on your previous injections.  Your procedure was less than 24 hours ago so reamain calm.  Things will improve.  Over the next several days the swelling will continue to lessen.  If this does not occur to your satisfaction conact your injecting physician.  Likely you will be very happy soon.
