It's been 5 days since my facelift. My face is swollen and the chin area is swollen. And there is bruising. Brusing can be covered with makeup but not swelling. My plastic surgeon I could probably return to work in two weeks or maybe even sooner. He said that while I would be ready for "prime time" no one would really notice. I'm panicked because I'm reading the answers that my face will be swollen and bruised. I'll have to quit my job. I can't go back to work like this. Help!
You are early post surgery and swelling will get better. The usual time for recovery is about two weeks .Please calm down and follow your surgeons instructions.
How does the longevity of results for a facelift using stem cells compared to traditional procedures? Which method requires less surgical procedures overall to preserve the results of a facelift indefinitely?
There use of term (stem cell) is very vague and each surgeon's technique is different than the other ones. There is no FDA approved machine for separating the stem cells at this time. There are many claims without published evidence. There are published data on fat grafting(without adding extra stem cell) that support using the fat grafting for the facial rejuvenation but not to replace face lift. I have been using fat grafting in combination with facelift to maximize the result and give more youthful look.
The doctor that performed the face lift is very capable and has a very good reputation, so i keep trying to convince myself that the nerve was not cut, but just damaged. The concern is that 12 weeks had passed after the surgery and the eyebrow is still totally paralyzed. If nerve was severed, and doesn’t regenerate, is there a surgery to fix it? I don't want to do Botox on the other side and make both eyes look the same because it looks droopy. Thank you very much
You should start to see improvements if the nerve is intact. If the nerve is cut, you need exploration and attempt to repair the damaged nerve( very hard but possible). Your surgeon would know where to explore.
