I am 29 years old, 5'8'', 136 pounds, size 34B. I am going for 450 cc saline implants under the muscle. Will this size would be too big for me and might give an unnatural look? Would reducing the size to 400CC make a whole lot of difference in appearance? My surgery is only a week away so all quick responses are really appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Breast implant choice preoperatively is one of the anxiety provoking decision in breast augmentation. Being 5'8" the difference between a 400 and 450cc implant shouldn't be too much, but much depends on how much native breast tissue you have to begin.
I have found the Purlz breast sizing system to be very helpful in this situation. It allows you to wear "implants" during daily routine and determine which size fits your preference best. You can investigate this option at www.lwgatz.com. I do not have any financial interest in this company, but find it very helpful to take the guessing out of implant size.
Good luck.
I had saline breast augmentation 4 months ago (under muscle). I thought one breast was larger than the other was a minor difference. I went for my follow up and my PS's, PA thinks that one has settled differently than the other and that my cleavage line is uneven. Both breast are soft and if symmetric, would be perfect.
They have suggested massaging the one that is sitting a little bit higher and want to see me again in two weeks to see if anything has changed. They mentioned corrective surgery for capsular contracture. Should I have a second opinion?
It is still relatively early as the implants will continue to settle. Massaging may help them over time.
The bottom line of symmetry is completely up to you. If you are satisfied with the result, no further surgeries are needed. If you are not satisfied, massage and wait a few more months and re-evaluate with your Plastic Surgeon. Most womens' breast have some degree of asymmetry, but a significant differeence can be corrected.
I have had my saline implants for nearly 2 weeks. I feel like one implant is bigger than the other (fuller). Is it easy for my doctor to go back in and add more saline? I wasn't impressed with the size I am; I thought I'd be bigger.
Yes, it is possible to add more saline depending on current volume and size of implants. The manufacturer has a minimum and maximum fill volume for each size implant and these should be followed. You may need a larger size if you desire significantly larger implants.
I also suggest you wait a while until the implants have settled and early post-operative changes have calmed before making any decisions. It is imperative that you discuss this with your surgeon so he/she is aware of your concerns. Working together, you can achieve your final goal. Good luck.
