Hello there.I have restylane in my cheeks, but it is starting to dimish. I had quite a lot put in, and its going to leave a saggy face!!!I would like to use radiesse but i don't want to wait until the restylane is all gone. Is it ok to inject radiesse into the cheek where restylane may still be. Very grateful for an answer
There is no problem with layering two different fillers such as Restylane and Radiesse. This is assuming you really are a candidate for Radiesse! You can alternatively dissolve the Restylane completely to fill with Radiesse. However, I think each filler has a special place and creates minor subtle changes as compared to other products.
Please talk to your derm or plastic surgeon, and I am sure they will be happy to help you!
Do I need to undergo a different kind of procedure or take any medication to make it dissolve faster?
Radiesse is a calcium based product in a gel vehicle. The gel vehicle can cause a lot of swelling and contribute to the exaggerated appearance you make not like on your cheeks.
Using a laser such as IPL or Vbeam laser have been described to soften the gel vehicle, dissolve it a bit, and take some of the swelling out for you. Also, try anti-inflammatory products.
Unfortunately, unlike Juvederm, Perlane, and Restylane, there is no "dissolving" of this product. It can last 9 month to 1.5 years.
Does using both Juvederm and Radiesse increase the longevity over just using Radiesse alone? How common it this treatment combo?
Radiesse has great results in the hands. Most people need one syringe in each hand. After injection, the practitioner will massage the area and my recommendation is to put a glove on and sit on it for 5 minutes. I would not do Juvederm, Restylane or even Sculptra in the hands. Ben Behnam MD
