I had Radiesse injected 24 hrs ago. I had cheekbone area, nasolabial folds done and also around my mouth and chin to fix rough texture due to collagen loss and mild acne scarring. Overall, I am happy with the way everything looks so far. I just have two areas I am concerned about-there is a bit of uneveness at the top of the cheekbones-could be due to swelling? There is also a small, semi-solid lump in the chin area. Its a little sore and I can feel it more than see it. Is this normal?
Your post op course sounds entirely normal at this point. Radiesse does cause a fair amount of temporay swelling. Additionally it is often palpable around bony areas like the chin and jaw. The swelling will reside within the next several days. Don't make a judgement about your results for at least two weeks. Best to you.
Approximately 3 weeks ago I went to have my cheeks enhanced with radiesse. Initially the procedure seemed to go well, but within one week I had major swelling ,hardness and pain across both cheeks all the way up to my eyes. I ended up in the emergency room and the Drs. did a CAT scan. results came back showing signs of infection directly related to the product injected in my face. I was put on antibiotics for 10 days and medicine for pain. I now have two odd shaped lumps and a raised ridge.
You need to see someone with a great deal of experience with Radiesse. Non ablative Fraxel absolutely helps. Your physician can inject with lidocaine and "massage/break" up the filler . There is downtime with both these procedures and you will need to repeat them. Infections are very rare, but if you do actually have an infection you need to stay on antibiotics for several weeks.
I've used Juvederm multiple times up to 2yrs ago. But needed upper lip filled in at the corners. I used a diffrent doctor than previousy. I was unaware until AFTER that Radiesse was used. When I smile I look like "the joker". I understand she filled along the outter lip line from corner to half up my lip. The area above my upper lip looks filled more than the lip or corners. Could this be swelling? I have 2 bruises on each side right above the corners. I'm concerned about lumps. It's been 12hrs.
This may absolutely be swelling. It may take two weeks to fully settle down. While I don't recommend Radiesse in the lips, please give it some time to settle down. From your photos I think you will look great once the swelling subsides.
