had otoplasty 8 years ago. For a few years behind my ear has been red and swollen and bleeds when touched too hard. There is also drainage. I've been too scared to see the doctor for these years but finally went. He found & removed a suture today, but he didn't know if this was the one causing the problem. If it is the one, how long will it take for my ear to be healed? Also, could this have any long-term negative effects on me? I am very nervous.
It's been 3 days after otoplasty and my ears are swollen, hurtful, blue and red. The headband I am supposed to wear only when I am at home is really tight and gives an uncomfortable pressure. Should I wear it more often anyway? I have the feeling it's not healing. It's not bleeding though. Can I cool the ears or do something with the blues? Did something go wrong as usually people don't have that kind of swollen, red blue ears after otoplasty?
I had otoplasty over 60 hours ago. Around 6 hours post op I felt blood trickle down my neck from my right ear from under my bandage, I wiper it for a couple of minutes until it stopped. Now I am around 60 hours post op I can feel the same thing under my bandage for my left ear, if I put my finger under the bandage there is damp blood on my finger. Is this normal ? Has anyone else experienced this ? I was planning on removing my bandages tomorrow but I am a little worried now. Thanks in advance
Hello, I am slightly over 24 hours post-op for an otoplasty. Thankfully, there is not much pain, but I woke up to find much of my pillow covered in blood. I took off the compressive bandage 24 hours after the operation and am not certain if this is an acceptable amount of swelling for the first day. I also opted to use a sports headband ontop of the surgical headband as I found the one I was provided with to have too little compression, is this a fitting accommodation? Thank You!
I had otoplasty 4 days ago-my ears feel very swollen and they seem to bleed behind my ears quite a lot still...my surgeon told me to only put my headband on at night-but when I do it seems to make my ears bleed a little. I know the photo I have taken isn't very good but I can't get a good photo-but does the cartridge look normal?...I'm really worried something has gone wrong
I recently had a otoplasty. The day after the surgery, my left ear kept bleeding, and the doctor stopped it using electrocautery. When the bandage came off, I noticed a mark in the frontal side of my ear. It looks like clotted blood now, but he only suggested using neosporin. What should I do?
